Ok, I've spent ALL DAY sewing and thinking about sewing wallets.
I'd think of a way it MIGHT be done and try it. It wouldn't work so I'd sew up an easy one while I think of something else to try.
Here are the ones I collected from the waste basket.
They are back in the waste basket now.
My issue was the zipper, I had a hard time trying to figure out how to construct the wallet with the features I wanted. I THINK I've got it this time but I'm way too "walleted out" to give it another go. MAYBE tomorrow.
In between all the ones that found their way to the garbage I was also perfecting a multi-slotted business card holder/wallet (no zipper). The design changed all day for these too.
Here are the ones that AREN'T garbage.
Even though most of the day's efforts ended up in the garbage, I learned a lot today. I made much more progress than I ever have before towards making a wallet that's actually functional.
Hopefully I'll figure it out soon so I can move on!!!

Dont throw any more away! Send them to me! I think they are delightful!!!
phew! i'm worn out just looking at sll those! still, i love it when i've had a day like that - you learn sooo much...even if the trash can is full. that'sonr way tolighten the stash.
If practice makes perfect, you've got to be almost there after today :-)
I certainly admire your determination! Way to go!
I'm with quirk - don't toss, send 'em to me!
Love the fabrics you are working with. Hope you can master your wallets soon! :)
I hate it when I spend time on a project only to have to abandon it as useless. I usually end up waiting a few days before giving it another try. This, of course, after throwing it across the room and yelling out a few choice words! You're a better woman than I for sticking with it!
you're my hero Karyn!! You've been sewing up a storm and those look great! How's the stash looking??
love these! have a great week!
Good for you! Your persistence is admirable.
The wallets look adorable!
So is this "Wallets Part Deux" ?? Was it during Spring Break when you tried them last???
I think they look great. I can't wait until you figure it out and let me know how you did it. That way *I* don't have to think about it.
What you've done so far looks great! I love your fabric choices. I'm anxious to see your next attempts!
Wow that is a lot of wallets! I think they all look pretty good!
I have a plan in my head for a wallet (my mum asked me to make her one awhile back), but now I am a bit worried it won't turn out... crossing my fingers:)
Why are they in the garbage (again)?? But I understand the frustration of making something that doesn't quite fit your vision -- taking a break is the best medicine :)
Isn't it funny how it goes trying to figure something out like that? It sounds like you were obsessed (I know because I've been there). The thing that's stopping me from continueing my latest purse design is the zipper. I really should just take the plunge. I know you'll get it soon! Keep perservering!
