I'm in love

My new toy arrived today. Actually, it would have arrived yesterday but nobody was home to sign for it so I had to go to the depot today to pick it up.

Here she is *sigh*

My new Gocco machine!!!!!!!!

I hadn't planned on using it tonight, I wanted to read the manual, watch the DVD that came with it and research it to death online.

Lera unknowingly talked me into trying it out tonight.

I was slightly prepared. I've been playing with some different designs anticipating it's arrival. I broke out the manual and decided to "go for it".

I carefully placed my original on the plate.

I then called Joe to see if he wanted to come and watch the bulb go off!! LOL!!!! He really wasn't too interested, but he humoured me and came into the room. All I had to do was press on the plate but I couldn't. Before I knew it I had talked HIM into doing it for me!!!! It reminded me of popping those Pilsbury dough tubes. I HATE doing that!!

Anyways, the bulbs went off perfectly.

Here is my exposed screen.

With one application of ink I was able to make 20 prints!

I freekin' LOVE them!!!

My only regret is that I really didn't do adequate research on how to clean the screen. I used the goop that came with the kit, but I sure hope I cleaned it well enough. If anyone has any screen cleaning tips I'd LOVE to hear them!

If you're thinking of buying a Gocco machine, do it!

Oh, I should mention I bought mine on Ebay. I paid a little more than the basic kit seems to be selling for everywhere else but it included two screens for fabric and some fabric ink too. It was worth it as far as I was concerned.

I can't wait to play some more!

*edit*

I just thought of two more things. I used watercolour paper, I didn't think that card stock was fancy enough. Is there a different kind of paper that I don't know about that I should be using? I can't remember what the second thing is. I'm too excited.

Hmmm. Sounds like SOMEone succumbs to peer pressure pretty easily. Please do not blame me for future fabric purchases! lol

I'm completely jealous. I just can't justify spending that much money. At least not yet, that is!

Your cards are adorable. I love the owl.

WOW! That is so cool! I don't know much about these machines, but after your post I'll be doing a little research.
Love your owls and can't wait to see what else you come up with!

Guess what? I just bought mine too and it came 2 weeks ago. If you look on my crafty bits you can see that I used it to print on Moleskines. How fantastic are they?

You can clean the screen?? I didnt know THAT!! Hmmm... I will have to do a little research then. If you find out let me know.

I bought my kit of someone on Etsy. It was pretty reasonable and it came with a fabric kit too.

Twin, I forgot to mention that I hate those popping dough cans!!!! They scare the crap out of me! (I even blogged that I hated them months ago for a meme.)

Oh you lucky thing! I've been researching this for the last week and I'm going to ask M to buy me one for Christmas =)

Now I've read that you can save a screen by cling wrapping it, putting it in a ziplock bag and into the fridge or freezer...maybe read up on that technique? I'm not sure what it does, maybe keeps the ink from drying on there? I don't think you clean the ink off before doing it. I've also heard something about olive oil being a good cleaning agent...don't quote me on any of this though! =P

There's a Gocco Flickr group that has some really informative discussions too.

Wow! I totally jealous. Oh I wish I could justify the cost of that machine. And you had me laughing that you talked Joe into popping it for you :)

Your design is lovely and I can't wait to see what beauties you produce.

That is about the cutest owl ever! If he ends up in your shop, I have an aunt who is an owl lover and who *needs* something with him on it for Christmas :-)

I have always wondered how that worked. I would love to have one but I'm afraid it would be too expensive for a hobby.

Oh my goodness! I am so incredibly jealous! I have had my eye on a gocco for quite awhile, but just can't seem to justify it... Seeing your cards though makes me think I need one! I love the owl:)
