So I think I rescued the crappy Christmas cards by making them into gift tags that I actually quite like.
But I still had dreams of using the tree image combined with fabric somehow for Christmas cards.
I have the fabric ink for the Gocco printer and the stamp adapter to make fabric printing possible so it was time to give the new toys a whirl. I bought some inexpensive Christmas fabric at Walmart and dragged out the Gocco supplies.
I loved printing on fabric! The experience was very different from printing on paper. The fabric sucked up the ink quite quickly and the master had to be re-inked quite frequently, but I am thrilled with the way it turned out.
So once I printed up a bunch of trees I cut them into squares and then stitched them onto the note cards.
As completely embarassed as I was about the original UGLY design, I ended up with something I'm happy with and I'm glad I tried the new printing technique. I'm sure there will be MUCH MORE printed fabric in my near future!

Those are very cute. And that was cheapy Walmart fabric? (The red and white would make CUTE yo-yo's. I may have to go find some.)
They are totally groovy! I've really enjoyed hearing about your adventures in gocco! I imagine another couple months and you'll have me on the hunt for one of my own LOL
I love the way it turned out on the fabric!
That's great! Would gocco-printed fabric be washable? If so, think of the possibilities for printing your own fabric for use in whatever project you can imagine!
love them. and i wish you'd stop posting about "goccoing" you are helping me to gin up more needs. of which i don't need any. and i don't need any of that walmart fabric either. so there.
Cute cards! How cool that you found that adorable fabric in Wally World!
Wow... it looks amazing on fabric. I am too scared to try it on fabric. Maybe now its time to be brave hey. I have to start printing my Christmas Cards soon.
Karyn those are great!! You definitely should make so more. Oh, and maybe you could make some christmas ornaments out of that fabric! Like cut around the tree and stuff it? It would be cute!
The cards turned out really cute and I love the fabrics! I love the idea of printing on fabric!
I love the way those turned out! I am curious too... Is gocco-printed fabric washable do you know?
Oooh -- like that tree on the fabric! And the fabrics you chose -- yep, love those too (could also be why I have some of them in my "collection").
Printing on the fabric added so much. Love them.
Thanks so much for all the info. Really appreciate it. I've been doing some surfing and I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.
Love the printed tree, they're great.
